This program is designed to prepare students for employment as a Game/Simulation Designer, Game/Simulation Graphic Artist, and Game/Simulation 3-D Animator.
Students are introduced to the fundamental principles, design strategies, and methodologies of game and simulation development. This program is a four-year sequence of courses oriented to game and simulation development that align relevant academic, employment, and workplace standards with opportunities to partner with postsecondary institutions.
This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge, skills, and concepts to prepare students for employment in the game/simulation industry and to develop and support a systemic solution to the growing demand for skilled game and simulation workers. The content includes practical experiences in game/simulation conceptualization, design, storyboarding, development methodologies, 2D/3D animation design and production, and implementation issues. Specialized skills involving graphic animation software are used to produce a variety of two and three dimensional components.
This program is project-based and focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following rudiments of the game and simulation industry: production planning, elements of production design, storyboarding, elements of visual design, integration of graphics and animation into new game/simulation productions, and collaboration/teamwork.
